ZikZak

A travel video from your photos

Once your trips are on the map, ZikZak can play them back. The camera flies from home to each place in turn, your photos appear along the way, and years of travel turn into a short highlight reel.

Ways to play it

Make a video

Choose Make a video under Create & share and ZikZak renders a vertical video, sized for Instagram Reels, TikTok and Stories. The video is made in your browser from your own atlas, so your photos don’t have to be uploaded anywhere to create it. Then save it or share it like any other video.

Private by default

Your photos are read in your own browser. Without an account nothing leaves your device. If you create a free account and save your atlas to the cloud, the copies we keep have their camera data, including GPS, removed. A shared link is a separate, view-only copy: it rounds locations to about 1 km, leaves out your home and never shows file names. The details are in the privacy policy.

Questions

Is ZikZak free?

Yes. ZikZak is free, with no ads. You don’t need an account to make your atlas; a free account only adds a cloud copy and sharing.

Where is the video made?

In your browser, on your device. Your photos are not uploaded to make it.

What format is the video?

A vertical video for Reels, TikTok and Stories. ZikZak saves it as MP4 where your browser supports it, otherwise as WebM.

Can I share the reel itself instead of a video file?

Yes. With a free account you can create a view-only link to your atlas, and the link can play the same reel for whoever opens it. Locations are rounded to about 1 km and your home is hidden.
