How ZikZak works
ZikZak turns your travel photos into a map of every trip. It reads where and when each photo was taken, sorts them into trips and draws them on a world map – all in your browser.

How it works
- Add your photos – from your phone, your computer, a folder or a Google Photos Takeout.
- ZikZak reads where and when each photo was taken, works out where home is and sorts the rest into trips.
- Every trip lands on your world map, ready to replay as a short highlight reel, turn into a video or share with a link.
Private by default
Your photos are read in your own browser. Without an account nothing leaves your device. If you create a free account and save your atlas to the cloud, the copies we keep have their camera data, including GPS, removed. A shared link is a separate, view-only copy: it rounds locations to about 1 km, leaves out your home and never shows file names. The details are in the privacy policy.

Questions
Is ZikZak free?
Yes. ZikZak is free, with no ads. You don’t need an account to make your atlas; a free account only adds a cloud copy and sharing.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your photos are read in your browser and stay on your device, unless you choose to save your atlas to the cloud or share it. Cloud copies have GPS and other camera data removed.
What do I need?
Photos with location data (most phone photos have it) and a web browser. There is no app to install.
What about photos without a location?
They are counted at the end of the import, and you can place them on the map yourself with “Place them”.
Can I use it on my phone?
Yes. ZikZak works in the browser on phones, tablets and computers.
